Permission Management
Permission Management controls which Revenuealot tools each team member can use, and which connected stores they can view or operate inside those tools. It is designed for multi-member workflows: warehouse teammates can focus on inventory and warehouse nodes, research teammates can work with keyword and competitor tools, and operators can be limited to the stores they manage.
The page is available at Dashboard → Settings → Team Permissions. It lists organization members and provides two permission tabs: Tools and Stores.
Admin access: Only organization admins can view and manage team permissions. Organization admins always have every tool allowed by the current plan, and their own tool permissions cannot be restricted.
What This Solves
When one organization has multiple members, platforms, and stores, full shared access creates three common problems:
- Members can see tools that are unrelated to their role
- Store ownership and data boundaries become unclear
- New members need a fast way to receive useful but limited access
Team Permissions separates this into two layers:
- Tool permissions: which feature modules the member can access
- Store permissions: which connected stores the member can access inside authorized tools
Both layers apply together. A member must have access to a tool first, then can only use that tool for stores assigned to them.
Before You Start
Check the following before configuring permissions:
- You are signed in as an organization admin
- The member has already joined the current organization
- The stores you want to assign are connected in Settings → Stores
- Your current subscription plan includes the tools you want to assign
Tool permissions cannot bypass plan limits. If the current plan does not include a tool, that tool will not be available for assignment.
Page Structure
1. Members
The left member list shows people in the current organization. Each member has a tool permission role label, such as:
- admin: organization admin with all tools allowed by the current plan
- Default: no custom permission; uses all assignable tools in the current plan
- Warehouse: inventory and warehouse management focused access
- Research: keyword, competitor, smart selection, and extension focused access
- Operations: store metrics, product analytics, auto pricing, ads, and listing management focused access
- Custom: manually selected tools
Select a member to edit their tool and store permissions on the right.
2. Tool Permissions
The Tools tab controls which feature modules the member can see and use. Tools are grouped by navigation category. Admins can:
- Choose a preset role from the member list
- Expand tool groups and select individual tools
- Use the group checkbox to select or clear a whole category
- Click Save to persist tool permissions
- Click Reset to remove the member’s custom tool permissions and restore the current plan’s default assignable tools
If you manually change the tool selection under a preset role, the member becomes Custom.
Start with the closest preset role, then adjust individual tools. This keeps the member list easier to scan later.
3. Store Permissions
The Stores tab controls which connected stores the member can access. Stores are grouped by platform:
- Takealot Seller
- Takealot Supplier
- Makro
- Shopify
- Amazon
Admins can select individual stores or entire platform groups. After saving, the member can only view or operate the selected stores inside tools they are already allowed to use.
For members with custom store permissions, newly connected stores are not added automatically. After adding a new store, return to this page and update the member’s store permissions if needed.
Recommended Setup Flow
Open Team Permissions
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Team Permissions. If the page says Team Permissions are admin-only, confirm that your current account is an organization admin.
Select a Member
Choose the member from the left list. Configure regular members first; organization admins usually keep full default access.
Configure Tool Permissions
In the Tools tab, choose the preset role that best matches the member’s job, or expand groups and select exact tools. Click Save when the selection is ready.
Configure Store Permissions
Switch to the Stores tab, expand each platform, and select only the stores this member should manage. Click Save Store Permissions.
Ask the Member to Verify Access
After saving, ask the member to refresh or sign in again, then confirm that their top navigation, feature pages, and store filters match the expected scope.
Common Scenarios
Warehouse teammate only manages replenishment and inventory
Start with the Warehouse preset and confirm that inventory management and warehouse management tools are included. Then assign only the stores that teammate handles.
Research teammate only performs market research
Use the Research preset for keyword research, keyword reverse, competitor research, smart selection, and browser extension access. Assign only the stores they need as references.
Operator manages selected stores
Use the Operations preset, then keep tools such as store metrics, product analytics, auto pricing, Amazon Ads, or listing management according to the member’s job. Assign only the platform stores they own.
Temporarily reduce access
To remove specific tools, clear those tools and save. To return the member to default plan permissions, use Reset. To reset only store access, use Reset Store Permissions in the Stores tab.
Notes
- Tool permissions and store permissions are cumulative; missing either layer can block access
- Organization admins cannot restrict their own tool permissions
- Assignable tools depend on the subscription plan and organization-level feature access
- If no stores are connected, the Stores tab will show an empty state
- After permission changes, members should refresh the app to avoid confusion from stale page state
